Catherine Birdwell has graciously offered to host a program (via Zoom) open to anyone in the diocese who might be dealing with divorce or separation. This is a very lonely time and may be making the pain of separation even worse. Catherine uses the Catholic’s Divorce Survival Guide program from Ascension Press. Could you help us get the word out to your parishioners? It is a 12 week program and will begin on May 27, continuing on Wednesday nights. If you would like to use them, promotional graphics for Facebook and Instagram are attached. Those who are interested can contact Catherine at [email protected] Please help us spread the word to those who might benefit from this program or community during this time.
Join Archbishop José Gomez, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and Archbishop of Los Angeles, in re-consecrating our nation to Mary, Mother of the Church. We will join the bishops and faithful in Canada as they consecrate their country to Mary under the same title. This re-consecration will give the Church the occasion to pray for Our Lady’s continued protection of the vulnerable, healing of the unwell, and wisdom for those who work to cure COVID-19. When? Friday, May 1st at 2 pm Central time. How to participate? https://lacatholics.org/consecration/ OR facebook.com/usccb to join the live-stream and pray as one nation.
UPDATE 5/5/2020 - Completed! Bored staying at home with nothing to do? Give a little time at the Church. Weed pullers are needed for the area in front of the rectory. A handful or any amount would be appreciated and very helpful. After weeding we can treat the area to suppress weeds in the future. We need weeding completed in the next two weeks (by 4/11/20). Go at any time convenient for you. Email Marie Jackson if you can help at [email protected]
